The Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (ACCW) has a goal of recruiting new parishes in each vicariate to join our sisterhood of women across the archdiocese. To add to our dynamic membership presentation at the Parish Team Workshops, we want to offer additional suggestions on strengthening existing clubs, as we seek to educate and empower our members. One strategy we hope to employ this year is establishing an archdiocese-wide membership committee.
Whether your current group includes 10 or 300 women, every ACCW parish Catholic Women’s Club should have a membership committee member because it is invaluable to the vitality of your organization. Membership committee members are able to keep up with membership contact information, attendance, and other information to strengthen the vibrancy of the group.
Tentatively, our committee’s goals are to:
- Promote Golden Rose Award recognizing high school ladies’ service at their parish in all vicariates,
- continue to educate young women about the objectives the Archdiocesan and National Councils of Catholic Women, and
- provide a PowerPoint insert that highlights the structure and activities of ACCW, membership tips and parish success stories each month on our web site.
If this sounds like an exciting, ambitious opportunity, then we need you on our committee. If your parish has already submitted your roster sheet and did not give data on your membership chair, submit the revised roster sheet with a check mark next to the membership chair’s name, to indicate this person’s willingness to serve. We need many voices to strengthen ACCW.
